Writing a digital marketing brief can be a difficult task because you must find words that will describe exactly what you’re looking for.

Every market is competitive today, but you need to outline which brands in your niche, you see as your main opponents.

Among other things, we can use this information to assess their marketing campaigns and use their weaknesses to enhance yours.

What is your brand message?

‘Just Do It’ by Nike and ‘Impossible is nothing’ by Adidas are brand messages so effective, they’ve become legendary in the business.

These messages are incredibly motivating and evoke strong emotions.

They must permeate the copy, the graphics and the style of all your campaigns, and compel customers to take action. In a few words, what is your brand message (also identified as brand essence)?

What are the attributes of your product/service?

Go into more details regarding your product and explain. how exactly it can be used to solve the customer’s need.

Which features of the product should customers find most appealing.

What are your current digital Marketing Efforts?

Describe your existing online properties (eg websites, blogs, Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, Youtube channels etc) and the current activities undertaken (types of campaigns, levels of intensity, frequency, and so on).

What are your overall Marketing Goals?

What is the overall goal of your marketing efforts? Check boxes below as required.

Improve brand awareness: Are you looking at expanding the top-of-mind recall, mindshare and heart-share of your brand?

Increase engagement: Are you trying to improve the overall engagement rates of your online communities?

Generate leads: Are you seeking to attract more qualified leads to your business?

Grow community: Are you seeking to grow your social media communities on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Instagram?

Drive online sales: Are you hoping to improve click through’s to your e-commerce page to drive sales?

Strengthen advocacy: Do you wish to increase content sharing and to trigger more viral sharing in your community?

What combination of field of expertise and service do you require? Your request may be multi-facetted and require more than one field of expertise or service.

What are the specifics of your request?

Given the expertise(s) and service(s) selected, describe the specifics of your request. For example, if you selected Social Marketing-Facebook, copywriting and design, you may want to specify the color(s) to be used, the format of the ad, the type of call to action, etc.

And you will need to mention if the request refers to the creation of a new marketing asset or the update of an existing one.
